Nothing is more exhilarating than scaring the ever living shit out of oneself, and Stand Up Comedy does it for me every time.
It's one thing to have a captivated audience to test out your Stand Up Comedy material while standing or sitting in front of a skilled trade HVACR apprenticeship class as a Community College Professor, or as tonight's designated Speaker in front of an AA meeting, or for your friends gathered at McDonald's while they have their morning coffee, reading the morning newspaper.
Yet it's a completely new level of insanity performing in front of a live audience that doesn't know you, and may be wondering, has this guy by mistake wandered onto the stage as someone who is suffering from Dementia or Alzheimer's?
However, it is not new to me, nor is the idea of writing my own comedy material. I've done comedy on stage. I've performed in a comedy theatrical. I've hosted a Reality Golf TV Show - X-Treme Golf, I've written comedy sketches, scripts, and have a Podcast, Sunday's At The Asylum and the one thing that haunts me in my sleep is... "Dave, you owe it to yourself to write and perform your One Man Comedy Show , The Black Box Comedy Tour... where exactly did I go wrong?
It is easily a 60 minute bit. Lot's to prep, lot's to book, lot's to do... BUT... after work shopping it, polishing it up in the comedy rooms of Las Vegas, of the numerous and infinite places I plan to tour with my show, I am definitely planning a surprise One Night Only performance in the resort town of Whitefish, Montana, USA. It will be a fun filled evening with tributes to my long lost brother, Jimmy DesJardins
