Entrepreneurs... we're a funny, creative, crazy breed.

by Dave Archer

There are moments in life when you realize you've been carrying something far longer than you should. For me, one of those moments recently came, Friday, July 10, 2026 after walking out of my accountant's office.

You see, after closing a sales campaign on a Father's Day Gift Card Campaign, net sales were recorded at ZERO sales. I dreamt if the idea had caught fire, we sold On-Line 100,000 skills assessments I'd be up $2 million US midnight July 15th 2026.

Radio, Social Media, Newspaper (The Sun), Face to Face field sales. ZERO.

Cash flow management is a strength but all things have a point to "pony up" before anything gets worse.

It was time to take care of some business matters. So leaving my accountants office Friday July 10, 2026 I was all smiles. Archer... the only road open is Comedy, Story Telling, Speaking, Lecturer, Facilitator.... finish "the round" strong Arch.... You just made the turn and are heading home, if you know what I mean? Home.... one day, we all get called home. I'm 70. Heading to the 10th... I have that gene, yah know. Banks love it. So, we could leave this for your grandchildren to pay???

It felt as though someone had taken a hundred-pound backpack off my shoulders.

Today, I'm choosing another path. Not because someone told me to.

Because I know the difference between existing... and living.

I've always loved creating. Teaching. Speaking. Making people laugh. Helping people improve their performance if able. Perhaps see themselves differently. The apprentice see self employment as quite possible and very achievable. That's who I am.

Over the past few months, I've been rebuilding Archer EduTainment. Fine tuning, some jettisoning, some additions.

The golf project taught me more than I imagined. The campaign didn't produce the business I hoped for, but it produced something just as valuable. Wisdom and Experience. Stories. Real stories. Funny stories. Tell them.

There are comedy clubs to visit. Stories to write. Auditions to be at. Voice-over auditions to submit. Pitches. People to meet. Dreams to catch.

At seventy years old, I don't feel like I'm winding down. I feel like I'm finally becoming the person all those previous chapters were preparing me to be.

People often ask what Archer EduTainment means. My answer is simple. "We create unforgettable learning experiences".

Sometimes those experiences happen in a classroom. Sometimes on a golf course.

Sometimes in a boardroom. On a roof top HVACR System at 2:00 a.m. -20c, with the wind whipping up your back, your fingers are freezing while holding your voltage meter with your eye lids frozen shut while icicles form and hang from facial hair and your flashlight in your mouth... while will no one think of a head strap lamp? One day I suppose. Come on baby... ignite! DAMN! And sometimes hilarity is told under the lights of a comedy club with nothing more than a microphone and a true story.

Comedy Bar East - Toronto, Can October 22,2025

Growing Up A Slum Boy, My Poor Mother, My Top 10 Signs collection, The Dryer, Father's Day, The Burger, Life As An Award Winning Community College Professor.

Excuse me... but I have a dream to catch.

From the bottom of my heart I'm glad I'm still alive - Post The Golf Campaign. So? Whose next? :)
